Explore Harstad is a small family business in beautiful Harstad that started in 2018 under the name Risholmbukt kayak.

The owners have a passion for kayaking and thought that such a wonderful activity must be accessible to everyone. When they were to build a new boathouse in Risholmbukt in Harstad (Breivika), a number of spaces were set aside that would be available for others to rent as a "hotel bed" for their own kayak. In addition, some kayaks were purchased for hire.

Kayak hire took over quickly, and after only a few years almost the entire boathouse was filled with kayaks and equipment used for hire, courses and guided tours. There was simply no room for others to rent a "hotel bed" for their kayak anymore.

This developed further, and the summer of 2023 became a turning point for the business. We eventually relied on so much expertise, equipment and skilled people that we decided to invest in becoming a provider of experiences all year round. At sea, on the shore, in the forest and in the mountains. In short, what our guests want to experience, we will offer!

We had to create a new visual profile that took us further from activities around kayaking, to a brand name that could cover the whole range of visions we have for the future, even if kayaking will still be an important part of us.
