Rather than driving around all night, we focus on reaching strong viewing locations and spending quality time there.

Once we find the right spot, we slow the pace and allow the experience to unfold naturally — surrounded by darkness, silence, and time to watch the aurora develop across the sky. This approach gives us the best possible chance to truly experience the lights.

To stay warm and capture photos from different angles, we may move around within the area with the vehicle while searching for the dancing aurora.

Depending on the conditions, we use selected base camps in the areas around Harstad and Hinnøya.

These locations have been chosen because they offer:

Shelter from wind
Possibility to light a bonfire
Hot drinks and easy serving while we wait
