Explore Harstad offers guided tours to the caves Trollkirka (Evenes), Resshellaren (Tjeldsund) and Okshola (Kilbotn). These are experiences that can be offered all year round, where we get to the caves on foot or on snowshoes, depending on the season.

Okshola is our most accessible cave. This is about 20 km from Harstad town centre, and it is about 15 minutes to walk from the car park. The cave is an approx. 250 meter long riverbed, and we can follow the cave approx. 30-50 meters in from the entrance. The outlet is under water, but is visible from the outside.

The trip to Okshola is suitable for groups of up to 15 people, where 3-4 people can explore the cave at a time. The trip is very nice to combine with an excursion, and we are happy to arrange a snack if you wish.

Trollkjerka is measured as Norway's 11th largest cave, but in cave measurement there are literally big dark numbers. One entrance is simply a hole in the ground that you can fall into, fortunately it is very remote. From here it is 40 meters down to Kirkesalen, the largest cave, and a full 70 meters to the lowest measured point. However, it tends to slope downwards, so it is not a matter of big falls. The other entrance is via a river that suddenly disappears into the rock, the so-called Trollkjerringtaket.

Resshellaren in Scania is a very easily accessible cave. Admittedly, you have to sit on your back and sled yourself five meters in, but then you are inside a large hall with a high ceiling. Here there is nowhere to fall down, and you don't get lost. Most people with claustrophobia also manage to stay here. Limestone and stalactites are found in abundance.

The various cave tours have different degrees of difficulty and you need more time to explore Trollkjerka or Resshellaren.
